Broke w/ Acne – DIY Avocado Lemon w/ Coconut Oil & Salt Mask/Scrub

The acne demon hit me when I was 16 and still plagues me to this day (almost a decade)! I’ve tried everything under the planet and noticed the only thing that has worked over time was exfoliating.

This time around,  I got a mild case of cystic acne. I wad so embarrased in social situations and would wear extra foundation to cover it 😦

Turns out, my hormones were out of whack! My birth control has greatly calmed down my skin’s redness & the acne has become less noticeable.

To quicken the healing process and treat scars, I’ve come up with this regime. Avocado & coconut oil moisturize the skin without clogging pores. Lemon works as a toner and lightens dark spots. Lastly, the salt effoliates dead skin cells to prevent pores from clogging. I’ve been using this face/mask for a week now and I love it!!! Lust sells a similar product for $40. Ain’t nobody got $$ fo datttt!!!!

Ingredients ($10)
1/2 of a large avocado
1/8 cup of coconut oil
1/4 of a lemon, juiced
1/16 cup of salt (dead sea salt works best but table salt will do)

Puree avocado, coconut, & lemon juice until it is a smooth paste. Then fold in salt in a mixing bowl. Add more salt if you want the paste to be thicker. It needs to feek grainy. You want the paste to hold on your skin while you wear it as a mask. Store in a glass container. Plastic containers absorb moisture.

I like to use this daily while my acne us still severe & will decrease usage to 1-2 times a week. Slather on that bad boy like a mask and let it sit for 5-10 minutes. When you rinse, use circular motions so you’re exfoliating with the salt. Your skin will feel like a baby’s bottom!!

Enjoy & let me know how it turns out!!
